Professor Nobuo Fujii was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in the spring of 2022. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the award ceremony was not held at the Imperial Palace, and President Kazuya Masu presented the award at Tokyo Institute of Technology. On 24 November 2024, his friends and students prepared a belated celebration at Kuramae Hall, Institute of Science Tokyo.
