The first Tuesday of October is IEEE Day. We had a celebration party on 5 October 2021, just after the 19th IEEE Engineer Spotlight webinar. There was a difficult quiz competition about IEEE, where Prof. Nishihara won the third prize.

Prof. Nishihara supervised a new book entitled “6さいからはじめるプログラミングの考え方 (Programming Concept Starting from 6 Years Old)”. A famous comedian Mr. Noda Christal kindly wrote recommendation words.

On 28 May 2021, IEEE Region 10 Executive Committee members had a dialogue with IEEE President Kathy Land.

On 5 March 2021 Prof. Nishihara attended the IEEE Milestone Dedication Ceremony for “Fiber optic connectors with physical contact connection adopting push-pull coupling mechanism, 1986”. This is the fourth IEEE Milestone for NTT.

Prof. Nishihara attended IEEE Region 10 Executive Committee 2021 was held online on 10 January 2021 and presented 2020 activities as Past Director.
